The Production Team tapped in the world of Scenic Design for Columbia favourite Tom Odell’s high energy live session for ‘numb’, and our Director Chris Chance worked closely with Jakob Gierse (Art Director) to create an abstract room from which Tom and his band would play.

Chris wanted to give the sense that the room was ‘alive’, hence the lamp idea was born – which acted as an important tool in giving the performance a sense of progression. Lighting wise, Karol Jurga (DOP) lit from high angles to cast strong imposing shadows around the set, and the top-down soft box set up for Tom helped to give his performance a truly menacing look and feel. The live session was directed by Chris Chance and produced by Emma Thompson, with edit and grade from Johnny Richards.
